Annual Competitions
Singles Stableford, Singles Matchplay and Doubles Fourball competitions are played between April and September. Please consult the Clubs WhatsApp Competition Forum for details of all competitions throughout the summer season.
Singles Stableford and Matchplay Knock-Out Competitions to allow difference between the handicaps of two players as per the R & A and SGU regulations. The lowest handicap player plays off scratch and the higher handicap player receives the difference in strokes to be applied accordingly on the lowest indexed holes.
All single stableford scorecards must be submitted to the match secretary for handicap purposes. Failure to do so WILL result in disqualification from the competition.
Doubles Fourball handicaps are calculated with the low handicap player conceding strokes to the other three players based on 9/10th of the difference of the full course handicaps. Maximum handicap to any one player in the Doubles Matchplay to be restricted to 18 (ie one stroke per hole).
In the event of a tie in the Annual Knock-out Competitions, it will be decided by a further 18 hole match to be arranged separately by the members involved in the final. This must be done within 2 weeks.
New members will not be eligible for these competitions in their first year of membership unless they join the Club with an existing SGU handicap.
